Marinated Antipasto Skewers
Marinate IL Villaggio Ciliegine, cherry tomatoes and roasted peppers in olive oil, garlic, plenty of fresh herbs and lemon zest with a pinch of red pepper. Skewer along with salami and olives to make wonderful passed hors d’oeuvres to serve with drinks.

Ingredients (Serves 12 skewers)

  • 24 IL Villaggio Ciligine Mozzarella balls
  • 12 assorted cherry tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp lemon zest
  • 24 assorted olives, pitted
  • 12 slices salami
  • 1 jar roasted red peppers
  • 24 large fresh basil leaves
  • 12 large or 24 small wooden skewers

Instructions

Drain the liquid from the IL Villaggio Ciligine Mozzarella and add them to a large bowl with the cherry tomatoes. Add the olive oil, garlic, herbs, lemon zest, salt, and red pepper. Stir everything together to combine and then cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Using bamboo skewers or similar, layer your ingredients starting with the IL Villaggio Ciligine Mozzarella and cherry tomatoes then the olives, salami, red peppers, and basil leaves. Repeat until your skewers are filled.
