Pesto & Heirloom Tomato Pizza
Shake things up next pizza night with our IL Villaggio Pesto made with DOP basil, topped with heirloom tomatoes and Twist & Grate Grana Padano DOP.

Ingredients (Serves 6-8)

  • 1 prepared pizza dough
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1⁄1/2 cup IL Villaggio Pesto
  • 1 lb mixed heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • Salt and pepper
  • IL Villaggio Twist and Grate Grana Padano DOP
  • 6 fresh basil leaves

Instructions

On a lightly floured surface, roll pizza dough into a rough circle, or desired shape, about 10 inches in diameter; brush with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.

Preheat your grill to medium. Carefully place the dough on the grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until evenly cooked to a golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Remove from grill and spread IL Villaggio Pesto completely over crust. Top with tomato slices, alternatively different colors and sizes. Season with salt and pepper. Top with IL Villaggio Twist & Grate Grana Padano DOP and fresh basil leaves.
